Due to the prevalence and global influence of the Middle East and especially considering the recent political climate involving the Middle East, there has been no dearth of Middle Eastern studies in recent years. Most accredited institutions, particularly those that have large humanities or anthropological departments, have at least one Middle Eastern major course of study available.
